Poster Template
We have improved our poster, and here is a quick template of how it will roughly work.
New Title
As we have changed the story of our trailer slightly we have then had to chage the title of it as well so that it makes sense. this lead us to change the title from 'Losing Faith' to Keeping Faith'. We have kept the font the same but the more we looked at the word 'Losing' the more we thought it didnt sound like a Rom-Com as it suggestes losing something and not gaining which is what normally happens in romantic films. We are also keeping the colours of blue and pink as it is typical boy colours and this is what is normally used in romantic comedys. Also we are changing both the photos on the poster and magazine cover. below is an example of the type of font we will use fopr the title of the film.

New Storyboard
Lookiong at our idea in more detail me and the group realised that our trailer did not have a twist that made it unique, because of this we have had to remake our storyboard to make it easier to know what we are doing when we film. our new idea flows better and actually has a story that goes some where. This will hopefully make our finished propject better.

Font Research
As we have been creating our magazine front cover and poster we decided to do some more indepth research into different fonts that would suit our genre, audience and type of media it is. When looking at other magazine covers we found that the fonts were bold, large and often in capital letters to attract the attention of their audience. We decided to stick with this convention of fonts and looked on dafont.com website which gives a variety of different fonts that would work for our magazine.
These are the possible options for our magazine font -->
We decided to get a variety of fonts some bold and block letters, and some more gentle. We did this so that we could put them on our magazine and see which ones worked the best. My particular opinion is that the bottom font on the left column will fit the idea of our magazine well as in the font it has spotlights in it, this will make our magazine more unique than others which use typical boring fonts. It also isnt to bold and over whelming that will swallow up our image and the rest of our magazine front cover. The second font on the right hand columne I think will be a bad choice for a font for our magazine as it is in block letters, and it will make our magazine look more like a thriller than a Rom-Com.
Rachel made a questionnaire with all our 10 chosen fonts on it, in which we gave out to the rest of the class, as they are in the age range that will are targetting out magazine at to see which fonts they preferred. We decided to do this as it will show what our audience would prefer therefore will make our magazine more popular.
This is a graph to show the results. It shows that the most popular font is font 3 which is bold and eye catching and the least popular font is 4 with no votes at all. Font 6, 7 & 10 also have a low rate of popularity which makes it a more difficult font to use and attract and audience.

Magazine Cover First Draft!

This is the first draft of our magazine cover. we like this kind of design and thin k it looks quite professional. sue to the heart Lewis is holding we had to change the colour theme slightly from the posters colours. this is not a big deal as some films do have more than one colour theme depending on type of advertising such as Sherlock Holmes when the poster was grey but the magazine cover was blue. we decided the magazine cover still needed some work to look better but we have a starting point. As this is only our first draft we have been thinking on a diffrent colour scheme that might work, as well as the positioning of some of the caprtions around the picture.
Photos!
These are pictures that we took as a group, which will be used for our magazine front cover and poster. We wanted both the main characters to be in the pictures. we chose particular poses that represent their characters feelings at certain times in the trailer. We wanted the girl played by Mercedes to look moody as she is annoyed with him for being clumsy and ruining their relationship. We wanted the boy played by Lewis to look happy and romantic which is why we gave him props like a heart shaped box of chocolates and a flower as he is trying to be romantic and win her back. We wanted these photos to have a comical look to them as we want to make brand the film as a rom-com which comedy in it and not too serious like normal romance films. We plan to edit these and use them for our poster and magazine after christmas.
Animatic
This is a link to youtube for our storyboard animatic:

Our animatic of our storyboard is a more detailed plan of our teaser trailer. It has all the scenes that we are planning to film, edited with transitions and a song in the background. The storyboard show how the teaser trailer will begin. As you can see we have decided to use 3 different production companies, as in previous research we found that teaser trailers use one main production company in our case we will be using Universal which is a popular company used by Rom-Coms. We will also be using mine, Rachel & Mercedes' company from last years coursework and Alex's from her trailer she created last year. These will be Jellyfish Productions and Wolff Productions. These companies will be heard with their original sounds in the background too. These will only last a few seconds and will lead into the teaser trailer through the use of a transition. We have decided to do this as we saw that Rom-Com trailers use more than company and this is a convention we wanted to keep. The soundtrack we put in the background is not the song we will use in the actual teaser trailer, but we wanted to find something which would give a good idea of what we will be using and will be trying to portray to the audience.
Throughout our teaser trailer we will be using a few different questions/phrases which will help the audience to understand the meaning of the trailer, the narrative and to hook them into watching the film. We also found that other Rom-Coms such as Love Actually and Valentines Day use this convention, which helps to hook the audience in. After the production companies the first title that appears is 'He found Faith'. This will be in Pink and Blue, as this is the themed colours of our teaser trailer, poster and magazine as they suggest a boy and girl and are also typical romantic colours used in Rom-Com films. We used this phrase as it suggests that the young boy thought he found his true love, it also grabs the attention of the audience and hooks them in. At this point the background tune will begin, making the trailer more romantic and add a romantic atmosphere for the audience.
We will also try and stick to a colour scheme of Blue and Pink for the poster, as these are strong colours that are often assosiated with gender.
